The Challenge

Many care home residents living with dementia experience isolation, reduced mobility, and limited opportunities for stimulating, joyful activity. Care staff are often under pressure and may lack access to creative approaches that can help residents reconnect with their environment and with others.

The PROJECT:

We partnered with three local care homes in Renfrewshire to deliver circus-based workshops for residents living with dementia, alongside specialist training sessions for care home staff.

The impact:

The project created moments of connection, laughter, and confidence for residents, many of whom showed increased engagement during and after sessions.

Care staff reported an greater confidence in delivering creative activities and new ways to connect with individuals experiencing memory loss

Residents demonstrated increased participation and alertness, positive emotional responses, including laughter and reminiscence, and considerably enhanced social interaction with peers and staff
